Production starts by breaking wood down into fine fibers. The fibers are mixed with resin and wax, then pressed under high pressure and temperature. The finished board is sanded to an even thickness. As a result, MDF has a uniform structure throughout: no grain, knots or fiber direction. It is easy to mill, and edges can be finished smoothly.

Is MDF afraid of water? It doesn’t like prolonged contact with moisture, which can make it swell. Wipe up spills right away; a lacquered surface adds protection.
